The unit's 1 GB of memory holds approximately 16 hours of CD-quality MP3 tracks (encoded at 128 kbps) or 32 hours of WMA tracks (at 64 kbps). And should things get a bit dull, users can turn to the built-in lighting effects, which sync to the music to keep things fresh.

The YP-U2JXB's audio performance is enhanced by a nine-band customizable equalizer and eight EQ presets, which include normal, rock, classical, jazz, house, ballad, R&B, and dance. Plus, the device offers a built-in clock for timekeeping and a multilanguage menu interface that accommodates users from across the globe. Perhaps the most convenient feature, however, is the direct-insert USB plug. Rather than offering a USB jack that requires an independent USB cable, the YP-U2JXB plugs directly into your PC's port. Simply remove the cap and you're set.

The YP-U2JXB--which is compatible with PCs running Windows 98 SE, Me, 2000, or XP--offers support for both USB 1.1 and 2.0 interfaces and includes a built-in lithium-polymer battery that recharges via the USB connection (each charge offers roughly 20 hours of playback). And at 3.45 x 0.96 x 0.5 inches (W x H x D), the device fits conveniently in the palm of your hand or in a jacket pocket. This thing is great!!!! (if your computer won't read this as a flash drive read on) : Samsung YP-U2JZW 1 GB Direct Insert USB Digital Audio Player (White)

The YP-U2J will not be recognized by WMP 11, which is the latest edition of Media Player. The Instillation CD with the unit has the old WMP 10 to download in order for the unit to be recognized. If you have the new WMP 11, you have to "System Restore" to a time before you upgraded to WMP 11 then make sure you install the old WMP 10. WWW.Samsung.com has a download center for the unit software, but the new drivers for YP-U2J are not posted for downloading as of 2/27/07. These drivers are needed for WMP 11 no matter what size unit you get, .5, 1, or 2 Gig. So be Aware of this before purchasing one.
